Court of King's Bench of Alberta
The Court of King's Bench is the Superior Trial Court for the Province, hearing trials in civil and criminal matters and appeals from decisions of the Court of Justice. The Chief Justice and other Justices of the Court are also judges of Surrogate Matters, which has jurisdiction over probate and administration of estate matters.
Court and Justice Services (CJS) is in the process of transitioning the platforms from which emails are sent and received. With high volumes of email traffic to and from Queen’s Bench Administration, the transition is taking longer than originally anticipated. We ask counsel to please be patient during the transition process, and limit emails sent to qbfiling.edmonton@just.gov.ab.ca and qbfiling.calgary@just.gov.ab.ca to essential emails only, at this time.
Should hard copies of materials be required, you will be contacted in advance of the scheduled hearing.
We remind counsel that the QB Filing Digital Service can accept a wide range of documents, listed here: QBFiling - Accepted Document Types (alberta.ca). For any materials that can be filed though the QB Filing Digital Service, you are strongly encouraged to use that platform, here: https://qb-filing.alberta.ca/.
