Judicial Dispute Resolution (JDR) Booking Form

The following procedures apply for bookings in Calgary and Edmonton: 

1. The Court of Queen’s Bench is allowing scheduling/rescheduling of the following JDRs that meet ALL the criteria under #2:

(a) PRIORITY A – CIVIL JDRs that were scheduled from March 16, 2020 to June 26, 2020
(b) PRIORITY B – CIVIL Trials with counsel that were scheduled to be heard from March 16, 2020 to June 26, 2020
(c) PRIORITY C – CIVIL Trials with counsel that are scheduled to be heard from June 29, 2020 to December 31, 2020
(d) PRIORITY D – New requests for Non-binding JDRs

2. The above listed JDRs must meet ALL of the following criteria:

(a) NON-BINDING JDR
(b) All parties are represented by counsel
(c) The JDR will be held via Webex
(d) The JDR will NOT be on the record

3. No bookings will be permitted until 7:30 a.m. on June 8, 2020. Forms received prior to the 7:30 a.m. booking start time will not be considered and may be deleted.

4. Bookings must:

(a) be made by completing, in full, the Booking Request Form and submitting it to JDRBookingsEdmonton@albertacourts.ca for BOTH Edmonton and Calgary
**Please note: all fields on the form are mandatory - as such, if the form is not completed in full, it cannot be submitted;
(b) by e-mail of the attached request form, which must relate to one JDR only; and
(c) please submit your request only in accordance with the booking priority in paragraph 5.

5. Booking priority will be given:

(a) for the first 24 hours commencing June 8, 2020 - PRIORITY A – Civil and Family JDRs that were scheduled from March 16, 2020 to June 26, 2020
(b) for the next 24 hours commencing June 9, 2020 - PRIORITY B – CIVIL Trials with counsel that were scheduled to be heard from March 16, 2020 to June 26, 2020
(c) for the next 24 hours commencing June 10, 2020 - PRIORITY C – CIVIL Trials with counsel that were scheduled to be heard from June 29, 2020 to December 31, 2020
(d) for the next 24 hours commencing June 11, 2020 - PRIORITY D – New requests for Non-binding JDRs
Note: Please indicate in your “SUBJECT” line your booking priority, a brief Style of Cause and the action number. Example: Priority A, Smith v Brown, 1803 0000

6. The JDR Coordinator will be in touch with booking parties within 3 days to advise of the status of the booking. Please ensure all contact information, including emails, are included on your booking form.

All Other Judicial Centres

Parties are required to contact the local/regional Court Coordinator to schedule a non-binding JDR or an Family EICC.
