Court of Appeal Edmonton Operations for January 5th and 6th, 2023

Further to the January 4, 2023 announcement regarding limited operations, the South Tower of the Edmonton Law Courts remains closed due to a power outage.  

Hearings

All Court of Appeal three-judge panel Edmonton hearings scheduled for January 5 and 6, 2023 will proceed virtually. Counsel and self-represented parties will receive information from the Registry on how to connect to the hearings. Members of the media and public may view the hearings by clicking on the "View Hearing" link for the proceeding that is included on the hearing lists available at https://www.albertacourts.ca/ca/registry/lists.

All single judge matters will continue to be heard electronically in accordance with the April 20, 2022 Notice to the Profession and Public.

Resources for Virtual Hearings

Resources on attending virtual hearings for counsel, self-represented litigants, members of the public and media are available on the Court’s website at https://albertacourts.ca/ca/about/visiting/etiquette.

Filing

Registry counters in Edmonton will be closed on January 5 and January 6. Documents can continue to be electronically filed via CAMS by visiting https://cams.albertacourts.ca/public-portal/. Documents will be reviewed and processed in the usual course.

Calgary Operations

Calgary operations are unaffected. The Registry counter in Calgary remains open, and hearings in Calgary will proceed as scheduled.
