The Honourable Chief Justice Ritu Khullar following her appointment as Chief Justice of Alberta, Northwest Territories and Nunavut:
“I am deeply honoured and humbled to have been appointed as the new Chief Justice of Alberta, Chief Justice of the Court of Appeal for the Northwest Territories, and Chief Justice of the Court of Appeal of Nunavut,” Chief Justice Ritu Khullar said.
“The opportunity to serve the people of Alberta, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut in this way is an enormous privilege and responsibility to which I am wholly committed.
“I am forever grateful to live in Canada where the values of respect, equality and fairness are deeply embedded and where any individual can flourish.
“The legacy of the judiciary in Alberta, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut is deep and strong. I recognize the importance of this office, and I look forward to working with my judicial colleagues to continue to serve the interests of justice and all people in these communities.”
