Non-Commercial Use

The judgments of the Court of Appeal of Alberta may be reproduced, in whole or in part and by any means, without charge and without further permission from the Court of Appeal of Alberta, provided that it is for a non-commercial purpose, due diligence is exercised in ensuring the accuracy of the reproduced materials, and the reproduction is not represented as an official version.

The official judgment is the signed original or handwritten endorsement in the court record. Requests to access the court record can be made under the Court’s Policy for Public Access to the Court Record.

Commercial Use

Permission is required to use judgments of the Court of Appeal of Alberta for a primarily commercial activity such as commercial redistribution of court decisions, developing and/or providing user-pay legal research tools or software, and/or developing and/or providing user-pay judgment analytics.

Prohibited Uses

Notwithstanding the reproductive rights above, external indexing, bulk or systematic downloading of documents, including via programmatic means, are prohibited.
