Jun 19, 2023

Chief Justice Redman will be stepping down as Chief Justice of the Alberta Court of Justice.  He will be returning to Southern Alberta to continue to serve the Court as a sitting judge.  Explaining the reasoning for his decision, Chief Justice Redman cited his desire to spend more time with family and to return to the challenges of the court room.  Chief Justice Redman was appointed to the Alberta Court of Justice in 2007 and was appointed as Chief Justice in August of 2020.

“I have truly loved serving as Chief of the Alberta Court of Justice. It has been an honour and privilege to lead an exceptional and committed group of judges, justices of the peace and staff for the past three years through a time of change, challenges, and opportunities.”

His last day as Chief Justice is August 31, 2023.
