We are pleased to announce the expansion of the King's Bench Filing Digital Service to include Pronounced Orders in the pilot locations of Calgary and Edmonton, effective September 25, 2026.
This pilot will support Pronounced Orders arising from Justice Chambers and Applications Judge Chambers matters. Following a hearing, where a Justice or Applications Judge directs counsel to prepare an order, the clerk will return the submission to the lawyer through the Digital Service. The lawyer can then revise and resubmit the order electronically for judicial review and approval. Once signed, the order will be routed to the clerk for filing.
Pronounced Orders in the pilot locations must be resubmitted back through the digital service, using the existing filing submission. Pronounced Orders submitted by e-mail filing or another method in Calgary and Edmonton will be rejected.
Pronounced Orders in Regional Locations will continue to follow the current process
Please note: Clerks will not review or sign Pronounced Orders as part of this process.
