Effective July 2nd, 2024, the Court of King’s Bench Filing Digital Service program will expand to include filings for Civil Justice Chambers in Drumheller, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Peace River, Fort McMurray, St Paul and Wetaskiwin for hearings scheduled on or after August 6th, 2024.
This pilot program enables lawyers to submit an Application for Civil Justice Chambers, accompanied by supporting materials and a Form of Order, which is mandatory. Reply materials will also be accepted. Materials will be digitally delivered to the Justice. Orders that are granted in the provided form will be digitally signed by the Justice and made available to counsel through the digital service.
Please note that all supporting documents you intend to rely on should be submitted with your Application. Documents not submitted by counsel will not be seen by the Justice.
Please also note that the submission process for adjournments, restoring your matter to the list, ex parte applications, and users who are not yet able to use the digital service will remain unchanged in the initial release.
Lawyers and legal assistants using FDS must first create an account. Instructions for the creation of an account, an overview of FDS, and an additional guide for lawyers and legal assistants are available at the following links:
