We are pleased to announce that, with the expansion of the King's Bench Family and Divorce Filing Digital Service to the
judicial centres of Fort McMurray, Grande Prairie, Wetaskiwin, Peace River, St.
Paul, Medicine Hat, and Drumheller to members of the Law Society of Alberta,
the service is now available in every judicial centre in Alberta.
Effective May 15, 2023, use of the Family and Divorce filing system will
be mandatory for counsel filing any Statement of Claim for
Divorce in all judicial centres in Alberta. A grace period of two
weeks shall be observed, until June 1, 2023, after which use of Family and Divorce Filing Digital Service for filing
these materials will be strictly enforced.
Please note that Family and Divorce Filing Digital Service cannot
accommodate filings for which payment is waived or from entities that do not
currently pay a fee (i.e. fee waiver or Legal Aid Certificate, filings by
Alberta Justice), and therefore these filings will continue to be accepted by
Email Filing.
