Mandatory Use of the Kings Bench Filing Digital Service (FDS) in All King’s Bench Locations

Jun 28, 2024

The King’s Bench Filing Digital Service (FDS) allows lawyers and legal assistants to file a wide range of Civil documents electronically, in all King’s Bench locations in Alberta. Because FDS requires the creation of an account, it is available to lawyers (and legal assistants) and law firms only. This Announcement does not apply to filings made by self-represented litigants.

Effective July 2nd, 2024, use of the FDS filing system will be mandatory for Counsel filing all accepted documents in all King’s Bench locations.

A grace period of two weeks shall be observed, until July 16th, 2024, before use of FDS for filing these materials will be strictly enforced.

A list of accepted documents is available on our help page. The accepted document list is updated regularly as new documents are added to the service. Please ensure you are referring to our latest version.
