A significant number of matters that are being scheduled for King’s Bench Appearance Court (KBAC) in Edmonton can more efficiently be dealt with via the Court’s criminal appearance pre-booking process.
To achieve greater efficiency in KBAC and to encourage use of the pre-booking process, effective September 3, 2024, the Court will reduce the number of KBAC sittings in Edmonton from weekly on Fridays, to every second Friday. The first KBAC date in the fall term will be Friday, September 6, 2024.
The Court will monitor this pilot project and an update will issue before the spring 2025 term.
