  • Extension of Trial Triage Booking into Fall Sittings

    The Court is extending the Trial Triage Booking Announcement into the Fall Sitting from September 8 to December 18, 2020 for Family, Civil and Commercial short trials and full day specials . Priority will continue to be given to matters scheduled to be heard between March 16 and June 26, 2020, and adjourned pursuant to the Court’s Master Orders due to the pandemic.In Edmonton, additional priority will be given to urgent trials, as there are fewer available slots.

  • Resumption of Criminal Jury Selections and Criminal Jury Trials - September 8, 2020

    Aug 6, 2020
    Criminal jury selections and jury trials will resume at the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta, effective September 8, 2020. To ensure the safety of everyone involved, jury selections and jury trials will be, for the most part, be held offsite, in twelve locations across Alberta.

  • Announcement from Resolution & Court Administration Services (RCAS): New Email Filing Procedures

    Law firms, lawyers and court runners with existing charge account agreements or those lawyers and runners wishing to open a charge account agreement are permitted to file documents in all judicial centres through email. For filing details, please refer to the full announcement.

  • Fax Filing Under ARC 13.41(2)(c)

  • Binding Judicial Dispute Resolution (JDRs) - Summer Sitting Only

    Effective immediately and until September 4, 2020 the Court will hear remote binding Judicial Dispute Resolutions (JDRs) province-wide for parties represented by Counsel. To schedule a binding JDR, all parties to the action must be represented by Counsel and all Counsel must agree to proceed via Webex video and/or audio. Counsel must also agree that confidential settlement discussions held during the binding JDR will not be recorded.
